    Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) today announced that three members from its Senior Management team have been appointed to the Executive Committee. They are: Mr Lawrence Wong, Executive Vice President and Head of Listings, Mr K.A. Chang, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resource Officer, and Mr Chew Sutat, Executive Vice President and Head of Development. They will assume their new responsibilities with immediate effect.

  • HKEx: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

    The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 13 May 2008 (Tuesday), 22 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 47 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 538 after the revision.

    In April 2008, collective turnover on the SWX Swiss Exchange, SWX Europe and Scoach Switzerland Ltd. amounted to CHF 168 billion, representing a 2.6 % decline versus the previous month. In contrast, turnover in international bonds increased by 48.66 %. Compared with April 2007, ETFs recorded a 48.2 % gain in turnover, while bonds did even better by recording a 62.1 % surge.
