    Trading on EDX London reached record levels in June 2008, with 5.7 million contracts traded during the month, an average of 286,161 trades per day. During the first six months of 2008, a total of 29.9 million contracts were traded on the service, while the average daily number of contracts traded increased 63 per cent on the first half of 2007 to 238,927.

    The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that 46,028,641 equity option contracts traded in June, an increase of 40.63% compared to the same year-ago period when 32,731,306 contracts traded. Equity option volume in June rose 5.60% compared to last month when 43,587,646 contracts traded.

  • Equity Trades Up 18 Per Cent Across London Stock Exchange Group In June - Record Month For Trading In Russian Derivatives

    During June 2008 there were 20.4 million equity trades carried out on the electronic order books of the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana, with a combined value of £243.9 billion (€307.8 billion). The number of equity trades across the Group increased 18 per cent compared with June last year, while the value traded decreased by 17 per cent. The average daily number of trades across the two markets was 970,317, while the average daily value traded was £11.6 billion (€14.7 billion).
