  • TSE Breaks Yearly Trading Record

    The Toronto Stock Exchange's yearly trading value passed $494 billion today-establishing an all-time yearly record. This is 7th consecutive year the TSE has smashed the yearly trading record. In fact, since the strong of records began in 1993 trading value on the TSE has jumped more than 236 percent.

  • Tokyo Stock Exchange Postpones The Initial Trading Date Of The September 2000 Contract Of 5-Year JGB Futures

    The Tokyo Stock Exchange decided to postpone the initial trading date of the September 2000 contract of 5-year JGB Futures, relying on the provisos of the articles 3.2 and 3.3 of Business Regulation and Order Acceptance Agreement of Japanese Government Bond Futures. The exact date of the postponed initial trading date will be notified again.

  • The Montreal Exchange Receives U.S. Approval To Sell Futures Contracts On S&P Canada 60 Index

    The Montreal Exchange has received approval from the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to trade its futures contracts on the S&P/TSE 60 Index in the United-States. The authorization is effective immediately.

  • Program Trading Averaged 20.6 Percent Of NYSE Volume During Nov. 29-Dec. 3

    The New York Stock Exchange today released its weekly program-trading data submitted by its member firms. The report includes trading in all markets as reported to the NYSE for Nov. 29-Dec. 3. The data indicated that during Nov. 29-Dec. 3, program trading amounted to 20.6 percent of NYSE average daily volume of 929.1 million shares, or 191.5 million shares a day.

  • NASD Board Approves Preliminary Plan For A Major Restructuring - Final Board Vote Likely By Early January, 2000

    The National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc. (NASD® ), today announced that its Board of Governors unanimously approved a preliminary plan for a major restructuring. The Board also reviewed and accepted the findings of the Review Committee (the "fairness" committee). Refinements of the plan are expected to be completed promptly with a final Board vote expected in early January.
