    Gemstar International Group Limited (Nasdaq:GMST), of the British Virgin Islands, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index®, effective at the beginning of trading Monday, January 3, 2000. Gemstar will be the third non-U.S. company to be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index, joining LM Ericsson Telephone Company (Nasdaq:ERICY) and Global Crossing Ltd. (Nasdaq:GBLX).
