CFTC Issues Report On Its Intermediaries Study

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has delivered to Congress a report on its study of potential regulatory relief for the futures commission merchants, introducing brokers, commodity pool operators (CPOs), and commodity trading advisors (CTAs) that serve as intermediaries in the commodity futures and options markets. The study was mandated by the Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000.

The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
