  • HKEx To Introduce Pre-Opening Session And Index Basket Order Trading Mechanism On 25 March

    Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Tuesday) that it will introduce a pre-opening session and an index basket order trading mechanism in the securities market on Monday, 25 March 2002, following the successful completion of market rehearsals. The 30-minute pre-opening session will start at 9:30 am. The index basket order trading mechanism will only be applicable in the continuous trading session.

  • CFTC Obtains Dismissal Of Martin Armstrong's Appeal For Release From Confinement

    The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), together with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and court-appointed Receiver Alan Cohen of O'Melveny & Myers, prevailed on March 18, 2002, in a federal appeal brought by financier Martin Armstrong to obtain his release from confinement for civil contempt of court. Mr. Armstrong has been incarcerated by a federal district judge for over 26 months for failing to produce $14.9 million in missing assets, assets which the CFTC, the SEC,
