Korea Stock Exchange: Three Korean Exchanges To Be Merged

On May 16, 2003, the Korean government announced its decision to merge the three local exchanges, i.e., Korea Stock Exchange (KSE), Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX), and KOSDAQ into a single unified exchange not later than December 2004, discarding its previous plan to merge three exchanges in the form of a holding company.

Futures & Options On RTS Stock Exchange Daily Trading Volume Exceeds 50 Million US Dollars

On May 20th, 2003, daily trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on RTS), the derivatives market of the RTS Stock Exchange, reached 56, 7 million rubles, or 1 752 million rubles in underlying value, the all-time record. The previous maximum set on May 19th, was exceeded by 18%.
Futures & Options On RTS Stock Exchange Contingency Fund Deposit To Increase by 2.5 Times

On its May 21st, 203, meeting, the RTS Derivatives Committee has decided to increase FORTS Contingency Fund deposit from 100 thousand to 250 thousand rubles per company. The new requirements take effect on June 17th, 2003.
