Trade At The 12 Arab Stock Markets Covered By The Arab Monetary Fund Surged By 50 Per Cent To USD12.8bn In The First Quarter.

Trade at the 12 Arab stock markets covered by the Arab Monetary Fund surged by 50 per cent to USD12.8bn in the first quarter, reported the latest AMF bulletin. Turnover in Saudi Arabia was up the most, and 80 per cent higher. These figures seem to show that Arab money is being invested in Arabia, and may indicate a repatriation of funds from overseas in the wake of September 11.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index: Effective after the close on Tuesday, June 18, 2002, AVI Software Inc. (TSX:AVF) will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange. All the shares of the company have been acquired by Cognicase Inc.
