Singapore Exchange Ltd (SGX) today announced that the MSCI Taiwan Index Options contract set a new daily open interest record on 25 September 2002, with 6,059 contracts, compared to the previous record of 5,844 contracts set on 26 June 2002.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces September Volume

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity trading volume reached 193,562,803 shares in September marking a 19.63% increase when compared to the same month last year when 161,795,103 shares traded. Equity trading volume increased 1.57% compared to the previous month's volume when 190,574,464 shares traded. Equity trading volume is 4.30% higher for the nine-month period this year when compared to the same period last year.

In September, the value of average daily trading in shares amounted to just under DKK 1.29 billion, a fall of 14 per cent compared with last month and a fall of 21 per cent on the corresponding month last year. Thus, the trading volume on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange follows the downward trend that has characterised other exchanges throughout the last months.
