RTS Stock Exchange Technical Center To Concentrate On Clearing Of Derivatives Transactions

From now on the RTS Technical Center activities will only be related to derivatives transactions clearing. Effective June 4th, 2003, all non-core businesses such as settlement and client and technical services will be transferred to the RTS Stock Exchange. The decision to restructure the RTS Technical Center business was made by the RTS Board of Directors on August 22, 2002, and approved by the Partnership Derivatives Market Committee.
Record Volumes On Amsterdam Options Market

On Wednesday 4 June 2003 the Amsterdam options market set a new record for volumes traded via professional transactions when 405,370 contracts were traded in the block trading segment, representing 68% of the total number of contracts (594,276) traded on the Amsterdam options market that day.

Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces Volume Increases In All Trading Products For May - Equity Option Market Share Jumps 10% From Last Month; Equity Trading Volume For May Breaks All-time PHLX Record

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity volume in May broke all-time trading records. Trading volume soared 114% when 325,292,713 shares traded as compared to the same year-ago period when 151,818,975 shares traded. Equity volume also increased 14.29 % compared to the previous month when 284,620,449 shares traded. For the first five months of 2003, equity volume increased 70.88% compared to the same period in 2002.
OneChicago To Trade Futures On Dow Jones MicroSector Indexes

OneChicago, LLC and Dow Jones Indexes today announced that they have signed an exclusive license agreement enabling OneChicago to list futures on Dow Jones MicroSector IndexesSM to begin trading Monday, June 23, 2003. Dow Jones Indexes will begin calculating 15 MicroSector Indexes June 16.

NYSE Board To Implement Committee's Recommendations To Strengthen Governance Of Exchange

The New York Stock Exchange's board of directors today adopted the initial recommendations of its Special Committee on Governance of the NYSE that would, among other things, annually disclose director and senior executive compensation, prohibit NYSE officers from serving on the boards of listed companies, and provide that the NYSE's compensation committee consist only of non-securities industry directors. These were among 10 initial steps that will be put into effect immediately to ensure tha
