  • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday, June 25, 2003: United Tex-Sol Mines Inc. (TSXVN:UTX.A) and Royal Victoria Minerals Ltd. (TSXVN:RVM) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The two companies will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange following their purchase by St. Andrew Goldfields Ltd. (TSX:SAS).

    Standard & Poor's wishes to announce that following changes: On June 24, 2003, the shareholders of Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. (TSX:PEY) approved a plan of arrangement whereby the company would be converted into an income trust, Peyto Energy Trust. After the close of trading on Thursday, June 26, 2003, Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. will be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite, S&P/TSX Capped Composite, S&P/TSX SmallCap, S&P/TSX Capped Energy and TSX 200 Indices.

Up until now, the selection has been made on the basis of total trading volume during the past 12 months and market capitalisation. ICEX has now decided to change its method of selection.
