NQLX Appoints Charles Shaw To President, Business Development

NQLX LLC announced today that it has appointed Charles Shaw to Vice President, Business Development. Shaw will co-manage business development with Patrick Read who was also recently appointed to Vice President, Business Development. Shaw started with NQLX in 2002 as Manager of Business Development.

Minneapolis Grain Exchange Revises Launch Date For New Wheat Index Futures And Options Contracts

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange announced today a revised launch date of February 13, 2004 for Soft Red Winter Wheat Index (SRI) and Spring Wheat Index (SWI) futures and options, pending approval by MGEX membership. Contract rules and regulations will be sent to MGEX members for a re-vote as part of a settlement between MGEX and twenty-seven of its members. The launch of SRI and SWI contracts was previously scheduled for December 19, 2003.

Eurex, the international derivatives exchange, is reporting another new record in trading volume for the year 2003. Based on the preliminary figures, which include an estimate for the last six exchange-trading days of the year, a total of 1.012 billion contracts have been traded and cleared in 2003, compared with 801 million contracts the year before. Change To ISMA's Rulebook Will Reduce Risk In The International Securities Market

The International Securities Market Association (ISMA) has today announced a change to its rules and recommendations governing trading in the international securities market by bringing ISMA's rulebook more in line with the TBMA/ISMA Global Master Repurchase Agreement (GMRA). The rule change, shortening the minimum buy-in period between a failure to deliver securities and the execution of a buy-in from the market from 12 to 5 business days, will take effect from January 1, 2004.

CBOT® Announces The Promotion Of Bryan T. Durkin To Executive Vice President And Chief Operating Officer

CBOE Members Approve Plan For Expansion Of Hybrid Trading System

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world's largest options exchange, today announced that its members voted to implement the second phase of CBOEdirect HyTS, CBOE's unique hybrid trading system. The planned rollout, dubbed HyTS 2.0, is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2004, pending SEC approval.
