Korea Stock Exchange Year-End Market Holiday Schedule

The KSE will close its markets on December 31, 2003. Consequently, the ex-dividend date for the listed companies whose fiscal year ends on December 31 will be on December 29, 2003.

Korea Futures Exchange Will Be Closed On January 1

The Korea Futures Exchange (KOFEX) will be closed on January 1, 2004, in observance of the New Year’s holiday, and re-open on January 2, 2004. According to the revised rules, KOFEX will continue trading in all contracts on December 31, except KOSDAQ 50 futures and KOSDAQ 50 options, both of which will be finally traded for the year on December 30. Trading hours will remain unchanged.

Transfer Of KOSPI 200 Contracts From Korea Stock Exchange To Korea Futures Exchange

KOSPI 200 Futures & Options According to the relevant law (see page 2 for details), KOSPI 200 futures and options will be transferred from KSE and traded on KOFEX from January 2, 2004(January 1 is a holiday in Korea). Gasoline futures surpassed its previous annual volume record yesterday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., when the total reached 11,037,810 contracts for the year, topping the 10,979,736 contracts traded in 2002.
