Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, December 16, 2003: The shares of Castillian Resources Corp. (TSXVN:CT) will be split on a 2-for-1 basis. The company is classified as a "Mineral Exploration/Development" company. Matrix Petroleum Inc. (TSXVN:MXI) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The company will be delisted from the exchange as part of an amalgamation with Bere

Philadelphia Stock Exchange Unveils Enhanced Fx Futures Products On Philadelphia Board Of Trade

The Philadelphia Board of Trade (PBOT), a subsidiary of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, began trading enhanced foreign currency futures products today with new trading rules and a low-cost fee structure. PBOT was an active market for foreign currency futures several years ago, but had seen a drop-off in activity as the global currency exchange model shifted.
Overseas Investors' Role Continues To Grow In HKEx's Derivatives Market

The percentage contribution by overseas investors to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited's (HKEx) derivatives market turnover has increased for the second year. Exchange Participants' principal trading and trading by local retail investors remained the other two major pillars of the derivatives market, according to a recent survey by HKEx.
