The 18th National Congress of the CPC set out the requirement to accelerate the development of the multi-tiered capital market. Only yesterday, the State Council released the Several Opinions on Further Promoting the Sound Development of the Capital Market which defined the main task as creating a reasonably structured, fully functioning, transparent, highly efficient, open and inclusive multi-tiered capital market system by 2020. AsChina’s capital market has been built from top to bottom, there is still much work that has to be done to increase its servicing capability in order to meet the needs of China’s rapidly changing and evolving real economy. To accelerate the development of the multi-tiered capital market, what we need to do is to enrich market tiers and investment products through differentiated institutional arrangement and risk management, extend market services downward and strengthen its support to the real economy.

Deutsche Börse: Subscription Starts For HanseYachts AG Bond

HanseYachts AG is planning to list a corporate bond in the Entry Standard of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The bond with the ISIN DE000A11QHZ0 can be subscribed from today until 30 May 2014, subject to early termination of subscription. It has an issue volume of up to €20 million, runs until June 2019 and has a coupon rate of 8.00 percent. Its nominal denomination is €1,000.

Leading Banks Back Lambert Proposals For New Standards Body - Bank Of England Governor To Chair Independent Panel To Appoint Chairman

A new independent body to drive up standards of behaviour and competence in the banking industry is to be launched this year, following recommendations from Sir Richard Lambert’s Banking Standards Review. Called the Banking Standards Review Council (BSRC), it will be a champion for better banking standards in the UK, working with banks and building societies to define standards of good practice and helping assess how well they are doing at meeting them.

Singapore Fixed Income Indices (SFI) Weekly

Below are key highlights for the week ending 16 May 2014 (please click on the attachment for further detail):

• The SFI gained 0.43% to 117.86.  The SFI is 0.75% shy of its all-time high.

• YTD, the STI currently outperforms the SFI by 0.55%.

• The SFI has made six consecutive weekly gains, having advanced in 16 out of the last 20 weeks.

• The SFI Corporate Bond Index reached a new all-time high on Thursday, 15 May (121.84). 

• YTD, additions into the SFI Corporate Bond Index include two issuances by Singapore Airlines (issue sizes of S$300M and S$200M) and an issuance by National University of Singapore (issue size of S$250M).
