  • London Stock Exchange And Deutsche Börse To Merge To Create iX - Agreement With Nasdaq To Create A High Growth Market

    London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Börse today announce their plans for a merger of equals to create a new company, to be called iX. In addition, iX and Nasdaq have signed a memorandum of understanding to create a pan-European, high growth market.

    The London Metal Exchange traded a total of 5,388,860 lots in April. This figure was made up of 5,029,987 lots of futures, 349,743 lots of options and 9,130 lots of TAPOs. The new LMEX contract traded 4.,451 lots of futures.

  • Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction 2/5 2000

    The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on May 2 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.1 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 19.3 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

    The Mercado a Término de Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Futures Exchange) traded 22,499 contracts in April 2000 compared to a figure of 20,843 contracts in April 1999. Total volume for the first four months of 2000 was 86,032 contracts, compared to 80,580 contracts in 1999.
