  • ASIC And ASX Launch Joint Trading Behaviour Education And Surveillance Task

    The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) and Australian Stock Exchange Limited (ASX) yesterday launched a major education and compliance campaign in the areas of acceptable trading behaviour, proper order record keeping, and compliance controls. It is to be known as the Trading Behaviour Education and Surveillance Task, or Trading BEST.

  • Warsaw Stock Exchange Trading System Launched

    On November 17, a new trading system, WARSET, began operating on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The system was developed by the SBF-Paris Bourse and is based on the French NSC system.

    Turnover The average daily turnover for the 20 trading days in October was HK$8,845 million, a decrease of 12 per cent compared with the previous month but an increase of 12 per cent as compared with the HK$7,868 million in October 1999. Total turnover value for the month was HK$176,897 million, compared with HK$201,877 million in the previous month and HK$149,497 million in October 1999. Of this total, HK$34.38 million was contributed by trading in NASDAQ stocks.
