Osaka Mercantile Exchange RSS3 Futures And Rubber Index Futures Weekly Report

On April 24, despite the expectation of the lower expiry with many trading houses going shorts, the current month of OME RSS3 futures expired higher by 0.7 yen at 62.40 yen from the last week's close on more-than-expected short-covering and takers of the delivery. This is attributed to the widened spread between the current and distant contract months and substantially higher physical prices. Osaka Mercantile Exchange Aluminium Futures Weekly Report

On April 24, OME Aluminium futures opened mixed with the aimless movement bound in a narrow range due to the Easter holidays in U.K. Distant March contract opened slightly firmer at 160.3 yen, up 0.8 yen from the last Friday's close. On April 26, distant March contract rose to 161.2 yen on fresh buying and short-covering as LME Aluminium futures went higher on funds' buying in line with the gain in its copper market.

NYMEX Sets Record Copper Volume

Copper futures trading set a daily volume record on the New York Mercantile Exchange on April 25 when 44,273 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 35,444 contracts traded on February 28, 2000.
