NYMEX To Lower Gold And Silver Futures Margins

The New York Mercantile Exchange announced today that effective at the close of business, margins on its gold and silver futures contracts will be decreased to USD1,000 from USD1,500 for members and hedgers and to USD1,350 from USD2,025 for non-member speculators.

The Nasdaq Stock MarketĀ® (Nasdaq) announced today that it has begun legal proceedings against infringers of the "Nasdaq" trademark. General Motors To Adopt New York Mercantile Exchange Price Indicator For Aluminum - Policy Change Made To Conform To New FASB Regulations

In a move to quickly accommodate new Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) regulations into its global purchasing policies, General Motors today announced its new Metal Price Adjustment Policy for Non-allied Aluminum Parts Suppliers. The new price adjustment policy, effective July 1, 2000, consolidates three separate policies currently in use for secondary aluminum cast parts, aluminum wheels and primary aluminum fabricated parts.

Seat Sale For IOM Division Of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Sets Record High Price

A membership in the Chicago Mercantile Exchange's Index and Option Market (IOM) Division sold today for $400,000, setting a new record high price for an IOM seat. The previous record of $385,000 was set on April 7 and matched with the last sale on April 11. The current bid and offer prices for an IOM membership are $380,000 and $425,000, respectively.
