    The Central Bank of Iceland has revised its inflation forecast for 1999 in the light of recent information about the development of consumer prices and underlying factors. The Central Bank now projects that consumer prices will rise by 3.0 percent between the averages of 1998 and 1999 and by 4.0 percent within the year 1999.

    Daily volume records were established on the New York Mercantile Exchange yesterday for total energy futures when 438,796 contracts were traded, surpassing the previous record of 436,583 contracts set on March 10, 1999 and for crude oil futures when 274,975 contracts were traded, exceeding the record 244,742 contracts set last week on July 14, 1999.
