The total number of firms connected to the London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange's (LIFFE's) electronic trading platform, LIFFE CONNECT™, has grown to 197 in 16 countries worldwide on the eve of the transfer of financial options to LIFFE CONNECT™ from open outcry trading at Cannon Bridge. This represents a 50% increase since September when international distribution began.

Euronext Announces Value Ratio

Following the announcement made on 20th March, 2000 on the fact that the Amsterdam Exchanges (AEX), Brussels Exchanges (BXS) and ParisBourseSBFSA (ParisBourse) had reached agreement to merge to create EURONEXT, the boards of the three respective exchanges are pleased to announce that they have in principle determined subject to due diligence on the relative valuation of the three exchanges to form EURONEXT, on the basis of a fairness opinion of ABN-AMRO.

Investors didn't come rushing to the market after the long weekend with low volumes the order of the day as the index lost 0.7%. Sechaba dragged the market downwards as it extended its losses from last week losing 20t to a 52-week low of P4.30 on just over 30,000 shares.
