Kansas City Board Of Trade 2001 Exchange Volume Second-Largest Ever

The year 2001 was the second-largest ever in the history of the Kansas City Board of Trade in terms of the volume of contracts traded. Total exchange volume at the Kansas City Board of Trade fell just short of last year's record of 2,664,669 contracts by only 46,180 contracts, which was a decrease of 1.7 percent.

Annual trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. rose to the highest level in CME's 103-year history in 2001, reaching 411.7 million contracts and surpassing the previous record year, 2000, by more than 78 percent. From 2 January 2002, the composition of the Baltic List will change as Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian stock exchanges approved changes to the Baltic List. Pieno Zvaigzdes, admitted to the list of Baltic blue-chip securities, will replace Kalnapilis, removed due to a reduced freefloat in the market. Balta was removed from the Baltic blue-chip securities list due to delisting from the Riga Stock Exchange.
