The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Ltd (the Exchange) has amended rules 15A.87, 19A.12 and Practice Note 17, paragraph 2.4 of the Main Board Listing Rules as a consequence of the rule amendments to Chapter 6 in February 2000.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) Executive Vice President, Acting SET President, Mr. Surat Palalikit, disclosed that SET secutrities trading in August recorded a total market turnover of 17,910.21 million shares in volume and 172,408.80 million baht in value, increased by 81,336.44 million baht from July. The SET Index closed on August 31 at 335.57, up by 37.88 points or 12.72 % from the previous month."

SGX Derivatives Trade Enjoys Strong Trading Volume For August - Several Other Records Set In August

Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced today that total derivatives volume traded from January to August this year, has grown 4.63% to 19,457,816 contracts from 18,339,639 contracts for the same duration last year. The total volume traded for derivatives contracts in August 2001 saw an increase of 8%, to 2,476,105 contracts, from 2,292,919 contracts traded in the same month last year.

Nymex Announces Margin Rates for Brent Intercommodity Spreads - Plans to Eliminate Credit for Spreads with IPE Brent Futures

The New York Mercantile Exchange today announced the reduced margin rates that will result from the credits it will offer on spread trades between the Brent futures contract to be introduced tomorrow and its other petroleum futures contracts.

Trading volume at the Kansas City Board of Trade remains on track to set a new annual record, with entire exchange volume up 5.5 percent when compared to last year at this time. Wheat futures volume is up 3 percent, wheat options volume is ahead by 37.2 percent and Value Line® volume is up by 37.9 percent.

Deutsche Börse has gained further partners, who will be making the new segment for U.S. stocks even more attractive, especially for retail investors. Eleven so-called "Xetra US Partners" will offer trading in the some 200 U.S. stocks to private investors at the same conditions as trading in German securities.
