  • Hong Kong Exchanges And Clearing Limited Results For The Half Year To 30 June 2000

    Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) reported an unaudited consolidated profit after taxation of $554 million for the six months ended 30 June 2000, a 160 per cent increase over the same period last year. The directors have resolved to declare an interim dividend of $0.08 per share. The share register will be closed from 9 to 11 October 2000 inclusive, and dividend warrants will be despatched to shareholders on or about 12 October 2000.

  • EEX Starts Training For Derivatives Market - Trading In Energy Derivatives To Start This Year

    Following the successful launch of the spot market for electricity in early August this year, EEX is now getting ready to initiate derivatives trading in electricity: Trading in electricity futures at EEX is set to begin before the year is out. Underlying instruments for the derivatives are base-load and peak-load blocks that are traded on the spot market at EEX. As previously announced, the contracts will have terms of one to 18 months and will be cash settled.

    The Cyprus Stock Exchange (CSE) has been admitted by the Federation of European Stock Exchanges as its fourth Associate Member. The General Assembly of the Federation has today approved unanimously the application by the Cyprus Stock Exchange for Associate Membership after the Exchange became a FESE Corresponding Exchange earlier this year.

    The Boston Stock Exchange (BSE) today outlined details for the first phase of its decimal conversion plan. As part of an industry-wide initiative to price stocks in dollars and cents instead of in fractions, the BSE will begin trading a select group of securities in decimals on Monday, August 28th.
