Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction 11/7 2000

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on July 11, of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 13.8 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

CBOT Hosts Press Briefing July 12 Following Release By USDA Of Crop Production And Supply/Demand Reports

The U.S. Agriculture Department on July 12 will release its latest crop production (wheat) and supply/demand reports and the Chicago Board of Trade will hold another in its series of crop report briefings for the media and members following release of the reports.

Barclays Bank of Botswana Limited has announced the appointment of Duncan Mlazie as Managing Director Designate to take over from Chris Lowe in early August. Prior to his new appointment, Duncan was the bank's Corporate Director and has been with Barclays for over 20 years. His appointment to head the largest commercial bank in Botswana as well as the largest publicly quoted company on the BSE is historic, as he is the first Motswana to hold such a position.

PHLX Continues To Set Volume Records

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity options volume for the month of June 2000 reached 4,856,628 contracts traded, a 61% increase over June 1999 when 3,018,155 contracts changed hands. Year to date equity options volume reached a new record of 28,300,085 contracts traded, a 27% increase over the first six months of 1999 when approximately 22 million contracts changed hands.

Increased Coverage For FTSE All-World Index

Following the successful introduction of the FTSE All-World Index, FTSE has now completed the first interim review of all new constituents included in the FTSE All-World Index. A further 27 stocks will be added to the FTSE All-World Index after the close of business on 21 July 2000.
