CFTC's Division Of Trading And Markets Clarifies Certain Exemptive Relief

The Division of Trading and Markets of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (Commission or CFTC) is issuing this Advisory to clarify that certain exemptive relief granted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to registered securities broker-dealers in connection with the events of September 11, 2001, also applies to futures commission merchants (FCMs) and introducing brokers (IBs).

SET Adjusts New Spread Effective On November 5, 2001.

The Nasdaq Stock Market, Inc. (Nasdaq®) has begun implementing a new pricing plan for the fees associated with stock quoting and trading on Nasdaq. The first phase of this plan was submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in late September and took effect on October 1. The second phase of the plan was submitted to the SEC this week, for implementation on November 1. The third phase is being submitted to the SEC today for implementation on December 3.

HKFE Amends Margins For Two International Stock Futures Contracts

A total volume of CHF 112,380 million was traded on SWX in September, 15.4 percent more than the month before. The total comprises CHF 91,751 million in equities (including funds), CHF 15,472 million in bonds, CHF 2,837 in derivatives, CHF 335 in Exchange Traded Funds and CHF 1,986 in Eurobonds.
