Stock Exchange of Thailand: New Spread Not Deter Price Movement

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) stresses that the new spread system, to come into effect on Monday November 5, 2001, will help investors to trade at various price levels and will not interfere with the integrity of price movements. Investors will not have to buy or sell shares step by step according to the new spread, as skipping price steps will still be allowed. Moreover, the ceiling and floor prices of shares will continue to be within 30 percent from the previous closing price.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced Friday that equity options trading volume totalled 83,439,215 contracts for the first ten months of 2001, up 52% over the same year ago period when 54,892,004 contracts traded.

Nymex To Lower Cost Of Exchange Of Futures For Swap Transactions

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it would lower the cost of exchange of futures for swap (EFS) transactions to $2.50 per contract per side from $10 per contract per side and would apply the discounted fee retroactively to the natural gas transactions conducted since the start of the program yesterday.

NYBOT: S&P Institutes Annual Weightings Changes For The S&P Commodity Index

In accordance with its published methodology, Standard & Poor's announced today the weightings for each of the 17 commodities found in the S&P Commodity Index (SPCI). Weightings have changed for each of the commodities and will remain fixed in the index for one year. The changes will be implemented at the close of trading on February 8, 2002.
