First Review Expands Geographical Coverage Of FTSE/Hang Seng Indexes

Following its meeting on 10 September 2002, the FTSE/Hang Seng Indexes Committee today announces enhancements to the methodology for calculating FTSE/Hang Seng Asian Sector and Asiatop Indexes. The Committee agreed to include coverage of the Malaysian stock market in the FTSE/Hang Seng Indexes and to reduce the capping on individual stock weights to 10% for the FTSE/Hang Seng Asiatop Index.

Eurex is further expanding its portfolio of index derivatives with a total of nine new futures and options on sector indices of Euro STOXX and STOXX 600. As of September 23, Eurex is launching futures and options on the sectors Financial Services, Media and Utilities of the Euro STOXX index, as well as options on the STOXX 600 sector indices Banks, Technology and Telecommunications. Deutsche Börse Updates Weightings In Equity Indices. Changes In The Indices Effective September 23

Effective September 23, new weights will apply for the companies in the equity indices of Deutsche Börse. Deutsche Börse released the tentative figures on Wednesday; the final figures, based on Friday's Xetra closing prices, will be published on Saturday at the Deutsche Börse Web site.

CFTC Appoints Richard E. Collier To Be Central Regional Office Coordinator

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today the appointment of Richard E. Collier to serve as the regional coordinator for its Central Regional Office, effective immediately. Currently, Richard is Supervisory Auditor in the Central Regional Office of the Division of Clearing and Intermediary Oversight and he will continue in that role.

CBOT Soybean Oil Futures Contract Sets A Volume Record On Exchange Electronic Trading Platform

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) yesterday announced that its members set a new daily volume record for soybean oil futures on the exchange's electronic trading platform with 1,696 contracts traded on September 16, breaking the previous record of 871 contracts set on August 19, 2002. With the inclusion of the open auction market, a total of 28,459 soybean oil futures contracts were traded on September 16.
