    The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 543,863,316 shares as of the May 15 settlement date, an increase of 76,761,441 from the 467,101,875 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-April. The May figure represents trades through May 12, 2003.

    Per E. Larsson is to leave his position as CEO of OM on May 30, 2003. The Board of Directors has decided that a new CEO will head the new company that will be formed when OM merges with HEX. OM's Deputy CEO, Magnus Böcker has been appointed as acting CEO.
