American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 607,205,869 shares as of the June 13 settlement date, an increase of 63,950,500 from the 543,255,396 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-May. The June figure represents trades through June 10, 2003.

Warsaw Exchange - Announces Revision In WIG And WIRR Indices

The Warsaw Stock Exchange announces the following quarterly adjustment changes to the WIG and WIRR SmallCap Indices: TRASTYCHY, KRUK and UNIMIL will be moved from the WIG Index to the WIRR Index and KOPEX, STALPROFIL, OLAWA and WISTIL will be moved from the WIRR Index to the WIG Index. The MICEX And The London International Petroleum Exchange (IPE) Start The Second Stage Of The Training Program For Russian Oil Industry Workers

Russian oil companies' specialists begin their training course in "International trade in oil products and oil processing" today on the MICEX. The course was organized with the support of the London International Petroleum Exchange, Confidence UK Company (London) and the MICEX. About 40 Russian fuel and energy companies are involved in the training program.

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday, June 18, 2003: Enterra Energy Corp. (TSXVN:ENT) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The company is graduating to the TSX effective at the opening on Friday, June 20, 2003, to trade under the ticker symbol "ENT." Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that effective after the close of business on Friday, June 20, 2003 the relative weights of the companies in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices will be adjusted. New York Mercantile Exchange To Revise PJM Large Trader Reporting Requirements

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., yesterday announced that it will amend large trader reporting levels for the financially settled PJM electricity futures contracts to one contract from 25 with the launch of the weekly and daily contracts scheduled for June 26.

NASD Provides Members Guidance Regarding Instant Messaging

NASD today advised member firms about the use of "instant messaging" by employees, saying firms must ensure the instant messaging is being retained for at least three years and the communication does not violate NASD rules governing sales literature and correspondence.
