The Central Bank Of Iceland Lowers Interest Rates

The Board of Governors of the Central Bank of Iceland has decided to lower the yield in the Bank's repurchase transactions with credit institutions by 0.5 percentage points effective at the next auction of repurchase contracts on April 2, 2002. The interest rate on the current accounts of credit institutions in the Central Bank will be lowered by 0.5 percentage points on April 1, 2002, but the rate on overnight advances will be unchanged.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/CDNX Composite Index: The common shares of Progress Energy Ltd. (CDNX:PGX) will be delisted from CDNX after the close of business on Wednesday, March 27, 2002. The company's securities will be listed on the TSE at the opening on Thursday, March 28, 2002.

SEC Seeks Contempt Order Against Repeat Offender For Alleged Violations Of Previous Injunction - Federal Judge Freezes Respondents' Assets, Schedules Contempt Hearing

The Securities and Exchange Commission has filed a contempt action and obtained emergency relief against Roc G. Hatfield and his Florida company, Global Diamond Fund Inc. According to the SEC's court papers, Hatfield and GDF are fraudulently offering unregistered securities to potential investors in blatant disregard of prior permanent injunctions and the federal securities laws.
