TSX.COM Lists Market On Close Imbalances - Web Listing Will Help Provide Investors With Key Information For Closing-Price Trades - On Toronto Stock Exchange

In order to provide greater visibility and assist in accommodating trading order imbalances in the Market on Close (MOC) facility at the end of the trading day, TSX Markets today announced that all MOC order imbalances are now listed on TSX.com at 3:40 p.m. eastern time every trading day.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), the Indian securities regulator, today entered into an Understanding Regarding Regulatory Cooperation, Consultation and the Provision of Technical Assistance (Arrangement). CFTC Chairman James E. Newsome and Chairman G.N. Bajpai of the SEBI signed the Arrangement at CFTC headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Wednesday, April 28, 2004: Transition Therapeutics Inc. (TSXVN:TTH) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol “TTH” at the open on April 29, 2004.

SEC Proposes Thrift Exception From Advisers Act, Comprehensive Disclosure Requirements For Asset Backed Securities - Adopts Supervision Programs For Broker-Dealers And Affiliates

The Securities and Exchange Commission today voted to publish for comment propose a rule that would provide an exception from the Investment Advisers Act for thrifts and new and amended rules and forms for registration and reporting for asset backed securities. The Commission also voted to adopt rules that would create voluntary programs to supervise broker-dealers and their affiliates on a consolidated basis.
