    The SWX Swiss Exchange will be improving the structure of the SWX equity market and making changes in the area of the index families. With the SXITM Family, the SWX will, for the first time, offer Swiss and foreign companies a platform for special sectors. At the regulatory level, there will only be three additional sets of rules in addition to the basic rules. The SWX New Market will be discontinued. A special opening will be available for new companies that use IFRS or US GAAP.

    Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, March 8, 2004: AFCAN Mining Corporation (TSXVN:AFK) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol "AFK" at the open on March 10, 2004. Railpower Technologies Corp. (TSXVN:P) will be removed from the index.   • Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Composite Index

    Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that effective after the close of business on Friday, March 19, 2004 the relative weights of the companies in the S&P/TSX Canadian Indices will be adjusted. The relative weight changes reflect the quarterly updates to the float shares of various companies. Changes to the indices are in accordance with S&P/TSX Composite Index Maintenance Policies.
