  • Meeting Of The Board Of Oslo Børs On 22 January 2003

    At its meeting today, the Board of Oslo Børs resolved to uphold its previous decision to consolidate Orkla ASA and Nordstjernen Holding ASA in respect of the question of a mandatory offer for Elkem ASA. The Board also decided to transfer Blom ASA and Goodtech ASA from the Main List to the SMB List, and to transfer DOF ASA from the SMB List to the Main List.

  • FERC, CFTC Announce Joint Conference On "Credit Issues In The Energy Markets: Clearing & Other Solutions."

    The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will hold a joint technical conference on Wednesday, February 5, 2003, to explore, among a number of possible solutions, the feasibility of utilizing clearing to address, in a meaningful fashion, the credit issues that exist in today's energy markets.

    In advance of next week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on January 29, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.
