Euronext.liffe Commodity Volumes - February 2004

Euronext.liffe's Commodity futures and options contracts traded a total of 641,992 lots in February 2004, a 15% increase in year to date volumes compared to 2003. This further growth in Euronext.liffe Commodity Products follows record traded volumes during the course of 2003.

(TT) and Eurex today announced that TT, in conjunction with Eurex, will offer a free 90-day trial of TT's X_TRADER® front-end software to new TT customers in continental Europe. EU-Canada: Commission Agrees Design Of Future EU-Canada Trade And Investment Enhancement Agreement

The European Commission has agreed today on the design of the future EU-Canada Trade and Investment Enhancement Agreement (TIEA), identifying its areas and main objectives. The blueprint of this new type of agreement will now be discussed with the Canadian Government and adopted formally by EU and Canadian Leaders at the next EU-Canada summit to be held in Ottawa on 18 March. André Roelants To Become Chairman Of Clearstream International

Deutsche Börse announced on Wednesday, that the current CEO of Clearstream International André Roelants will become the company's Chairman. In an expanded role, Roelants will focus on client development, strategic marketing, and financial industry relationships and developments. Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Canola Prices Near 52-Week Highs

Canola futures at the Winnipeg Commodity Exchange closed out the month of February trading near their 52-week highs. The March 2004 contract settling at $411.50 per metric tonne on February 27, 2004, with the contract high of $415.00 being set only two days earlier on February 25. Futures prices spiked upward in February on very heavy trading volume after staying in a relatively tight $20.00 per tonne trading range since November 2003.
