For the first time, NASD has prohibited a regulated firm from opening mutual fund accounts for new clients for 30 days - for facilitating deceptive market timing practices and for failing to have an adequate supervisory system to prevent deceptive market timing and late trading.
LME Plastics Industry Roadshow Announced

The London Metal Exchange (LME) has today announced a programme of international industry briefings to support the launch of its plastics contracts. The announcement follows confirmation that the LME will commence trading in both Polypropylene (PP) and Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LL) on 27 May 2005.
LME Operations Manager Announced

The London Metal Exchange (LME) has today confirmed the appointment of Liz Milan as Operations Manager. Ms Milan will join the Physical Operations Department on 3 January 2005. She is to replace Mike Cotterill, who is leaving the Exchange, as planned, on the completion of his long term contract in the middle of 2005.

Listed Companies On The SET And MAI Collectively Showed Over THB 200 Billion In Profits In 1H/04

Listed companies on the SET and MAI posted healthier profit earnings of 29%, totalling nearly THB 200 billion (Approx. USD 5 billion). The six industry groups that recorded the highest profits are the financials group, resources, property & construction, services, technology, and industrials. Meanwhile the SET50 companies showed a 38% rise in profits and the MAI-listed companies collectively posted THB 252 million (Approx. USD 6.3 million) in net profits.
