  • Standard & Poor’s Announces Semi-Annual Reconstitution Of Standard & Poor’s/Barra Growth And Value

    Standard & Poor’s will make its semi-annual changes to the S&P 500/Barra Growth, S&P 500/Barra Value, S&P MidCap 400/Barra Growth, S&P MidCap 400/Barra Value, S&P SmallCap 600/Barra Growth and S&P SmallCap 600/Barra Value indices after the close of trading on Friday, December 17, 2004. On March 18, 2005, the S&P/Barra Growth and Value indices and their S&P parent indices will transition in their entirety to a half-float market capitalization-weighted structure.

  • Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

    Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Monday, December 13, 2004: Pursuant to a Special Resolution passed by shareholders, Banro Corporation (TSXVN:BNR) common shares will be split and commence trading on a 2:1 basis at the opening December 14, 2004.

    Standard & Poor’s as part of the quarterly rebalancing, will change the shares outstanding and the Investable Weight Factors for the S&P/CITIC 50 and S&P/CITIC 300 Indices effective at the open of business Monday, December 20, 2004.

  • New York Mercantile Exchange Announces Change To Brent Settlement Basis

    The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., today announced that it will change the basis for the final settlement for the Brent futures contract to an index of cash market data collected by Energy Argus, ICIS–LOR, and Reuters beginning with the expiration of the January futures contract on December 16.

    CME, the largest U.S. futures exchange, set several new records yesterday both for contract volume and open interest in several equity index contracts. Continued strong interest in the equity E-miniTM complex drove overall volume of 1,991,221, the second-highest volume day for futures and options.
