HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Wednesday, 1 December 2004, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining method
FTSE Group Unveils New Indices For Taiwan

FTSE Group (FTSE), the global index provider, today reveals two new indices in the TSEC Taiwan Series, a set of tradable indices created by FTSE for the Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation (TSEC). The new indices are the TSEC Taiwan Mid-Cap Index and the TSEC Taiwan Technology Index – both are highly liquid tradable indices, designed to act as the basis for derivative products in Taiwan, and have been developed in direct response to market demand.

Refinancing auction in December In connection with recent years’ refinancing auctions in mortgage credit bonds we have noted that in a few cases some orders were placed covering a volume that significantly exceeded the offered volume in a securities code. As a result, the members who had placed the orders in question were allotted a disproportionately large share of the offered volume in relation to the other real orders at the same price.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that annual trading volume at CBOE has already reached a new all-time high at the Exchange. On Wednesday, November 24, total volume for this year reached 327,263,022 contracts, surpassing the previous CBOE annual volume record of 326,359,531 contracts traded in 2000.
