Turnover On German Stock Exchanges Up 15 Percent In H1 2004 - Total Turnover Of EUR252 Billion In June - More Transactions On Xetra In H1 2004

In the first six months of 2004, the total turnover on all German stock exchanges was €1.8 trillion - 15 percent more than in the same period of the previous year (H1 2003: €1.5 trillion). Based on the aggregate statistics, a total volume of €252.3 was traded on the German stock exchanges in June - up 3 percent mom. This total includes €187.5 billion in equities, warrants and exchange traded funds, as well as €64.8 billion in fixed-income securities.

Tokyo Stock Exchange: Calculation Of TOPIX In Relation To shares Of Vodafone Holdings K.K. (9434)

Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced today that there will not be any additional changes to the calculation of TOPIX and its sub-indices concerning the shares of Vodafone Holdings K.K. (SICC code: 9434). Due to merger, 2,233,371 shares of Vodafone Holdings K.K. are planned to be newly issued and listed additionally on October 1, 2004. However, these shares will not be included in the number of listed shares used to calculate TOPIX.

Record First Six Months For The Oslo Market

The value of shares listed on Oslo Børs gained 19.6 % in the first six months of this year, making Oslo one of the best-performing stock exchanges in the world over this period. The first half of the year saw the value of share trading reach NOK 409 billion, giving an average of NOK 3.35 billion for each trading day. This represents an increase of 50 % from the daily average for 2003 as a whole, and is due in part to a continuing increase in activity from abroad.
