CBOT Fed Watch - November 8 Market Close

In advance of this week's Federal Open Market Committee meeting on November 10, the Chicago Board of Trade will be reporting daily rate change probabilities in the FOMC's federal funds target rate, as indicated by the CBOT® 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract. The CBOT 30-Day Federal Funds futures contract is a key benchmark interest rate barometer that reflects the forward overnight effective rate for excess reserves that are traded among commercial banks in the U.S. federal funds market.

CBOT Experiences Second Highest Trading Day Volume - CBOT's Electronic Trading Platform Sets New Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that on Friday, November 5, 2004, the exchange traded 4,324,024 contracts, the second highest total volume for a single trading session in exchange history. Of that total, 2,909,227 contracts were traded electronically, a new electronic volume record that surpassed the previous high of 2,473,584 contracts set on August 31, 2004. In addition, CBOT futures and options each set electronic trading volume records.

Algeco Removed From Next 150 Index

New composition of Next 150 Index Following the official result of the takeover bid by the French company Ristretto SAS for the French company Algeco (Next 150), Algeco will be removed from the Next 150 Index effective Thursday 11 November 2004. In accordance with the rules of the Next 150 Index the removed company will not be replaced immediately, but at the next quarterly review (effective 3 January 2005). Total Open Interest At Eurex Rises To Highest Level Ever - Open Interest Records Set In All Major Product Segments - Ferscha: Record Open Interest Builds A Strong Foundation For Sustainable Growth

The international derivatives market Eurex continues to expand its position as the world's largest derivatives exchange with record open interest on the exchange. Eurex announced on Friday that exchange-wide open interest had risen to 76.4 million contracts, an increase of 22 percent on the same month in the previous year and the highest level ever on the exchange.
