  • London Metal Exchange Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Shanghai Futures Exchange

    The London Metal Exchange (LME) and the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to pursue joint business development initiatives in commodities products, the first such agreement between SHFE and a European exchange. Under the agreement, the Exchanges will discuss a variety of initiatives, including future product development, mutual sharing of information and assistance with the understanding of market regulation and compliance issues.

    The WFE Secretariat on 26 May circulated a response to clearing community of WFE and IOMA/IOCA concerning the CPSS-IOSCO Task Force consultation. The comments prepared by CCP 12, are available from the Secretariat which has offered to coordinate information. The comment period finishes on 9 June 2004. .     Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday, May 28, 2004: TIR Systems Ltd. (TSXVN:TIY) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the ticker symbol “TIR” at the open on Monday, May 31, 2004.
