Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces the following index changes effective after the close of business on Thursday, January 6, 2005: On December 22, 2004, the shareholders of Alcan Inc. (TSX:AL) approved the spinoff of the company’s rolled products business into a separate entity named Novelis Inc. (TSX:NVL).
