The board of directors of the Dubai Mercantile Exchange (DME), the joint venture between the New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., (NYMEX) and Dubai Holding, today announced the appointment of its chief executive officer, Gary R. King.

8 December 2005 marks the tenth anniversary of the introduction of electronic trading on the SWX Swiss Exchange. Initially, foreign shares were traded on the new system. Once the major segments had been transferred by the end of August 1996, the process of consolidating the previously fragmented Swiss securities market on a single electronic platform was complete. The technical integration of the SWX trading structure into the clearing and settlement process was groundbreaking.

TSX Trading Value Tops $1 Trillion For First Time Ever

Today trading on Toronto Stock Exchange surpassed $1 trillion* for the year – the first time trading has ever reached that level. The year’s trading value record fell on November 21st when the previous year record of $944.2 billion (set in 2000) was eclipsed. TSX trading value so far in 2005 is running approximately 29 percent ahead of last year.

SWX Swiss Exchange: The shares Of Dufry Ltd (DUFN) Open At CHF 80

Today, the shares of Dufry Ltd, a Swiss travel retailer, were traded in the main market of the SWX Swiss Exchange for the first time. Yesterday, i.e. on Monday, an issue price of CHF 80 was determined. The opening price on the SWX also was CHF 80. This corresponds to a market capitalisation of CHF 1’125 million. Dufry belongs not only to the SPI®, but also to the SPI EXTRA®.
