  • CBOT Implements 22 Hour Trading Day

    The CBOT will implement a 22 Hour trading day on its electronic platform on October 9. The expansion of trading hours is in response to global demand for additional trading opportunities at the Exchange. This enhancement will make CBOT products available to electronic market users for an additional hour each day.

  • CBOT & SFE Sign Licensing Agreement to List Contracts on SFE

    The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced that the Exchange signed a licensing agreement with the Sydney Futures Exchange (SFE) to launch 1-Day Options products based on two CBOT futures contracts, CBOT mini-sized DOWSM and CBOT 100 oz. Gold futures. This initiative is a result of a joint Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two exchanges signed in October 2004.

  • CBOE'S September Volume Surges 56%; Average Daily Volume For Month Sets New All-Time High

    The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that September trading volume at CBOE surged to 41,206,760 contracts, an increase of 56% over the 26,458,879 contracts traded in September 2004. CBOE's strong volume in September was driven by significant gains across each of its major product lines -- index options rose 64%, equity options rose 50%, and options on exchange traded funds rose 76% for the month.   • CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) To Launch "Gas At The Pump" Futures

    The CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) today announced that it will launch "Gas At The PumpSM" futures. "Gas At The Pump" futures (ticker symbol "GP") are designed to track the retail price for regular gasoline that consumers pay at the pump.Gas At The Pump futures are expected to begin trading on October 28, 2005, pending regulatory approval.
