OMX has today finalized the acquisition of Eignarhaldsfelagid Verdbrefathing (EV), owner of the Iceland Stock Exchange (ICEX) and the Icelandic Securities Depository (ISD). The payment to EV’s shareholders is as previously communicated 2,067,560 newly issued OMX shares and the total number of outstanding shares has consequently increased to 120,640,467 as of today.

Today, the Supervisory Board of the Vilnius Stock Exchange (VSE) formed a new Management Board of VSE. Arminta Saladziene was elected Chairman of the Management Board. On January 1, 2007 Arminta Saladziene will also succeed Dalia Jasulaityte as President of VSE. Dalia Jasulaityte will serve as Deputy to the President of Baltic Market business unit at OMX, as of January 1 2007.

FIA And Markit Announce Operational Efficiency Project

The Futures Industry Association and Markit Group Limited today announced that FIA would provide a global electronic give-up agreement system where executing brokers, clearing brokers and their customers can execute give-up agreements online. The electronic platform will be provided by Markit, a respected provider of trade processing, data and valuations to the financial industry. The system is expected to launch in February 2007.
