CBOT Veterans Day Holiday Trading Schedule

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) has established the following trading schedule in connection with the Veterans Day holiday: Thursday, November 10: Open auction: Financial contracts will close at 12:00 p.m. All other open auction contracts (Agricultural and Stock Index) will close at their normal times. CBOE To Launch Mini-SPX Index Options On Tuesday, October 25, 2005

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) will launch Mini-SPX options, based on the Standard & Poor's 500 Stock Index, on Tuesday, October 25, 2005, as previously announced. Mini-SPX options (ticker symbol XSP) will be 1/10th the value of the S&P 500 Index, and will trade on CBOE's Hybrid 2.0 Trading System, which includes Remote Market Makers. American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 888,130,712 shares as of the October 14, 2005 settlement date, an increase of 39,283,593 from the 848,847,119 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-September. The October figure represents trades through October 11, 2005.

Standard & Poor's Canadian Index Operations announces that PetroKazakhstan Inc (TSX:PKZ) will NOT be removed from the S&P/TSX Composite, and other affected indices, effective after the close of business on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, because the acquisition of PetroKazakhstan Inc. by China National Petroleum Corp. (CNPC) has not yet received court approval.

S&P Announces Changes To S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index - Broadens Ratings Coverage And Increases Minimum Par Amount For Eligible Bonds

Standard & Poor's, the world's leading provider of independent financial research, ratings, and indices, today said it will change the inclusion criteria for the S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index. As determined by the S&P/TSX Canadian Bond Index Committee, to be eligible for inclusion in the Index: A bond must have a credit rating that is deemed to be investment grade by at least two rating agencies. A bond must have a minimum par amount of C$100 million.
