London Metal Exchange: Appointment Of A Sub-Committee To Design And Execute A Mechanism For Allotment Of B Shares

In order to further facilitate admission of new members to the Exchange, LME Holdings Limited has today appointed a sub-committee of the Board whose task is to design and execute a mechanism for the allotment of up to 200,000 B Shares in the Company. The sub-committee will be advised by NM Rothschild & Sons Ltd.

SEC Charges American Stock Exchange And Former Chairman And CEO Salvatore Sodano With Failing To Exercise Regulatory Oversight Responsibilities

The Securities and Exchange Commission today issued a settled cease-and-desist order against American Stock Exchange LLC for failing to enforce compliance with securities laws and rules and failing to comply with its record-keeping obligations. In the order, the Commission found that from at least 1999 through June 2004, the Amex failed adequately to surveil for violations of order handling rules by Amex members and failed to keep and furnish surveillance and other records.

Shanghai Futures Exchange Lists Zinc Futures

The China Securities Regulatory Commission, China’s regulatory authority on futures market, approved of Zinc futures contracts being listed on SHFE. The trading will start on Mar. 26, 2007.

U.S. Futures Exchange To Offer Futures Contracts On Events Beginning With CBOT Merger

U.S. Futures Exchange (USFE) has announced a new futures product to let investors take a position on the fate of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), which has received merger proposals from both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and IntercontinentalExchange (ICE). The contracts are the first of USFE's Binary Event Futures and were self-certified with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC).

IntercontinentalExchange, Inc. (NYSE: ICE) issued the following response to comments today by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (NYSE: CME) criticizing ICE’s offer to combine with the Chicago Board of Trade (NYSE: BOT): “CME’s increasing attempts to discredit ICE don’t change the fact that our offer is clearly superior – the ICE offer provides much higher current value, is pro-competitive, and will create a stronger business that we believe is better positioned for future growth.”

Eurex Obtains Recognition From The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA)- Approval Enables Direct Access Of New Members With Immediate Effect

The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has with immediate effect granted Eurex the status of a Recognised Body within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The DFSA is the independent, integrated regulatory authority responsible for the regulation of all financial and ancillary services conducted in or from the DIFC.
