(NYSE: NYX) today announced the closing of its $40 million agreement with the American Stock Exchange LLC (Amex®) for the NYSE to acquire the Amex’s one-third ownership stake in the Securities Industry Automation Corporation (SIAC) as announced on Oct. 25, 2006. CBOE'S October Volume Rises 28% To 63.3 Million - Average Daily Volume Of 2.9 Million Contracts, Total Monthly Volume In Equity Options Sets New CBOE Record

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that October trading volume totaled 63.3 million contracts, up 28% over October 2005's volume of 49.6 million contracts. Average daily volume for the month of October was 2.9 million contracts, an increase of 22% over October 2005's average daily volume of 2.4 million contracts. Eurex Trading Volume Up 9 Percent In October To 119 Million Contracts - Equity-Based Derivatives Again More Heavily Traded Than Fixed-Income Derivatives

A total of approximately 119 million derivative contracts were traded on Eurex, the world's largest derivatives exchange, in October. This represents a nine percent increase on the previous year (October 2005: 109 million contracts). The total number of contracts traded on Eurex to date in 2006 is 1.29 billion contracts, an increase of approximately 23 percent on the same period in 2005. Average daily trading volume at Eurex currently stands at 6 million contracts.
