Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Friday May 19, 2006: Coalcorp Mining Inc. (TSXVN:CCJ) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to trade on the TSX under the same ticker symbol. Hawk Energy Corp. cl A (TSXVN:HK.A) will be removed from the index. The company will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange resulting from an offer to purchase from Flagship Energy Inc.

Securities Industry Association Pleased With SEC’s New Reg NMS Implementation Deadlines

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) yesterday announced new implementation dates for the Regulation NMS order protection rule and access rule, and for one of the market data rules. S&P 500 Index (SPX) Sets New Trading Record At CBOE - Thursday's Volume Tops One Million Contracts For First Time Ever

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that cleared trading volume in options on the S&P 500 Index (SPX) totaled 1,079,425 contracts on Thursday, May 18th. This marks the first time ever that single day volume in SPX options has topped the one million contract threshold. The previous SPX single day volume record was set on February 17, 2006 when 943,566 contracts were traded at CBOE.
