FTSE Group And Bursa Malaysia Launch Tradable Shariah Compliant Index For Malaysian Narket

Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Bursa Malaysia) and the global index provider, FTSE Group, today launched the FTSE Bursa Malaysia Hijrah Shariah Index, a tradable Shariah-compliant index covering the Malaysian equity market. The new index is expected to attract a pool of global investors and can be structured to be used for Shariah-compliant investment products such as Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs).

Total turnover (single sided) of all MCX contracts for the week May 11-17, 2007 (Friday-Thursday) 2007 was Rs 49,957.67 crore, up 0.05% from the previous week’s close. MCX COMDEX at 2143.31 points was down 1.15% from the previous close. MCX Agri Index closed up 0.09% at 1680.97 points, MCX Energy Index at 2175.76 points was up 1.77% and MCX Metal Index at 2556.37 points was down 3.88%. In the Bullion segment, MCX Gold contracts registered a turnover of Rs 12747.72 crore

HKEx: Admission Of Lyxor ETF Russia As Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the Exchange), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), has announced that Lyxor ETF Russia (DJ RUSINDEX TITANS 10) (Stock Code: 2831) will be admitted to the list of designated securities eligible for short selling on 21 May (Monday) when it is listed on the Exchange's Main Board.

List Structure On OMX Baltic Market Will Change On May 21

On May 21 a new list structure will be introduced on OMX stock exchanges in Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. The new list structure will have two notable changes: modified admission and listing criteria on Baltic Main List and a new list - Baltic Secondary List - created by merging current Baltic I-List with Free List in Riga.
