Whistleblower Protection Law Firm Challenges SEC’s Proposed Rule Amendments - Legal Experts Take Action After SEC Releases Plans To Cap Whistleblower Rewards

The Washington, D.C. based whistleblower protection law firm, Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto (KKC), filed a 27-page letter with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today commenting on the amendments proposed by the SEC to alter its Whistleblower Program. KKC filed the letter as a public comment to the SEC to highlight serious flaws in the proposed amendments that will result in major setbacks to the advancements made in the use of whistleblower incentives to uncover major corporate fraud in the past few decades.

MOEX Aligns Equity Market Tick Size Regime With MiFID II Requirements

To increase the effectiveness of the equity market microstructure Moscow Exchange has aligned its tick size regime with MiFID II. MOEX will apply the new tick size regime and Decimals parameter from 1 August 2018 in the following trading modes:
- Main trading mode Т+ ("Т+2" order book)
- Odd lots trading mode
- Dark pool trading mode
- Equities D — Main trading mode Т+
- Negotiated trading mode(NTM)
- Equities D (NTM) trading mode
- NTM with CCP trading mode

Deutsche Bank To Pay Nearly $75 Million For Improper Handling Of ADRs

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced that two U.S.-based subsidiaries of Deutsche Bank AG will pay nearly $75 million to settle charges of improper handling of “pre-released” American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).

The Council, in EU27 format, was briefed by the EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier on the state of play in the Brexit negotiations. The chief negotiator informed the ministers about where the negotiations stand regarding:
- the work to finalise the withdrawal agreement, including the backstop solution for the border between Ireland and Northern Ireland
- the discussions on future EU-UK relations.

OFR Futures Volume Surpasses 100K - Investors Show Strong Demand For New CME Group Product

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced that total volume for its new Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR) futures contract, launched on May 7, 2018, reached more than 100,000 contracts for the first time on July 19, 2018. Open interest also surpassed 20,000 contracts.
